CRAZY WOMAN FINE ART GALLERY
The biennial, community-artist exhibition that transforms hotel rooms into galleries returns this year to the Fairfield Inn & Suites (1673 Centennial Dr. Laramie, Wyoming). Jon Madsen and his wife, Ginnie Madsen, will both have fine art displayed in this exhibit.
Located in Buffalo, Wyoming; Crazy Woman Fine Art Gallery represents Wyoming artists. Jon Madsen's featured work in this gallery includes local genre and landscapes.
I was born in Kansas, grew up in Wyoming and made friends with the wind and open spaces.
I attended college at the University of Wyoming BFA/MFA 1973 majoring in Art. I then had a 25-year job in computers to support a family and my “painting habit”. I taught beginning Drawing and Watercolor classes for the University of Wyoming Art Department, from 1998 – 2007.
I am interested in picturing visual sensations, something like the feeling one gets from a glance at this moment, of the world we are passing through. I have been actively entering competitive shows, and have had a few one-person shows. I received Wyoming Arts Council Fellowships for the years 2000 and 2006.
I am now retired, still painting and living in Laramie, WY.
